The project

I designed digital-signage management at IETECH for a platform used by Standard Chartered Bank, connecting content, approvals, playlists, scheduling and devices.

Inside this case study

Project context

This digital signage management platform is used by Standard Chartered Bank. My design work at IETECH supported a central platform for managing content across digital displays. The accompanying IETECH product paper explains its content workflows, approval process, playlists, scheduling and device management.

An enterprise banking context

Standard Chartered’s 2025 ESG Reporting Index states that the bank is present in 54 markets. That gives context to the institution using this product; it is not a claim that the signage application is deployed in all 54 markets. My work focuses on the content-management experience: helping authorised teams prepare, review and distribute communication across their displays.

Who the platform serves

The paper describes administrators, content managers and viewers. Teams can manage customer-facing announcements, product information, campaigns, scrolling text and live dashboards from one platform, rather than treating each display as a separate publishing task.

From content creation to approval

I designed a content-creation experience that brings media preview and content information into the same workspace. Staff can review the image or video, specify its name, description, location and duration, and choose publication or scheduling. The approval screen lets reviewers preview the content before approving or rejecting it, making review an explicit step in the publishing workflow.

Playlists and scheduled delivery

I designed playlist management with visible content type, duration and status. Adding content to a playlist is a searchable selection task, connecting the media library to the sequence that will appear on screen. The wider platform also supports scheduling by date, time and recurrence for planned campaigns and recurring announcements.

Managing devices across locations

The platform supports registering display devices and assigning playlists to individual screens or groups of screens. Central distribution and real-time content updates let teams coordinate multiple locations while selecting the content for each display or group.

Roles, access and accountability

The paper documents role-based access for administrators, content managers and viewers, alongside JWT authentication, encrypted server-to-device communication and audit trails. These are platform capabilities described by IETECH; my contribution here is the digital-signage design work, rather than a claim that I implemented every underlying service.

Brand consistency and enterprise integration

Central content approval and distribution help teams keep messaging aligned with approved brand standards and organisational policies. The product paper also describes integration with internal systems, third-party content feeds and user directories. The intended benefits are consistent communication, faster announcement distribution and less manual content handling.

What the documentation shows

The paper includes examples of content management, content creation, scheduling, playlists, user management and access control. These provide a fuller view of the product scope behind my signage work. The original paper is included for readers who want to examine the platform in more detail.
