Government revenue at local-government scale

At IETECH, I designed the collection and administration experience for Revsys, used by Rivers State Government, with project-reported use across 5 LGAs and in Epetedo. Working alongside Pius Ashogbon on frontend development and Ridwan Aroge on backend development, I shaped the operational dashboards, reporting and admin controls behind its tax workflows.

Inside this case study

Public revenue, from collection to oversight

Revsys is a digital tax collection and administration platform for individuals, businesses and government teams. Its published scope brings filing, tax tracking, payments, notifications and Tax Clearance Certificate requests into one service.

My contribution at IETECH focused on the operational experience: tax collection and administration workflows, dashboards, reporting and admin controls. The challenge was to make those responsibilities understandable within a product that handles several tax categories and administrative tasks.

My contribution within the delivery team

I contributed the product design for the collection and administration experience. Pius Ashogbon worked on frontend development, and Ridwan Aroge worked on backend development.

This case study describes my design contribution within that team. Product design, the working interface and the underlying services came together through our respective roles.

A dashboard that opens into the work

The operational dashboard gives staff a starting point for understanding collection activity. I designed dashboards alongside the reporting and administration views, so the product’s overview and its day-to-day operational tasks belong to the same experience.

The design focus was the relationship between information and action: what the team needs to review, which task follows, and which administrative controls support it.

Making room for different tax workflows

Revsys’s published scope includes withholding tax, annual assessments, PAYE, direct assessment and local-government levies, fees and permits. It also includes corrections to paid taxes and Tax Clearance Certificate downloads.

These describe the platform’s broader scope. My work focused on collection and administration workflows, dashboards, reporting and controls within that system.

Administration and reporting are part of the product

Collection is one part of a revenue service. Staff also need to administer the platform and review activity. I treated those operational interfaces as part of the product experience, designing the admin controls and reporting views alongside the collection workflows.

Together, those views connect the collection task with the oversight and administrative work around it. The case study documents that part of the product and my contribution to it.

From consultant records to review decisions

The consultant screens show how I connected the directory with the review task. Staff can search the approved list, scan tax IDs, sectors and statuses, then open a record to see the details together.

Requests use a related list and profile layout, with accept and reject actions visible in context. Reusing the structure keeps the review centred on the person and the decision, while the available actions reflect the stage of the workflow.

Use across government revenue operations

The project reports use by Rivers State Government and across five local government areas, with Epetedo also named as a deployment location.

My contribution sits within that delivery: tax collection and administration workflows, dashboards, reporting and administrative controls at IETECH, working alongside Pius Ashogbon on frontend development and Ridwan Aroge on backend development.
